Have you ever left a difficult conversation thinking about what you "should have" said or how you "could have" better managed the direction and outcome? Has anxiety at approaching difficult conversations ever caused you to avoid it entirely? Conflicts large and small arise in our lives on almost a daily basis and require careful discussion, especially in collaborative relationships.  We begin this two-part workshop with an introduction to communication issues in the work place where you will learn to:

  • Convey your message effectively without ambiguity or anxiety
  • Become more adept at giving negative feedback, critiquing and communicating "bad news"
  • Recognize communication barriers unique to different personality types
  • Understand gender-based barriers to communication
  • Develop active listening skills to better hear and understand what is being said

The second part of the workshop will interactively explore strategies for conflict resolution.  You will have the opportunity to practice these techniques in a variety of exercises including role playing, pairs, small groups and round tables. Join us and gain the skills and confidence to approach and successfully navigate difficult discussions.
