WEST Expands Leadership Team with New Advisory Board and Two Additional Board of Directors Members 

October 10, 2011 CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – WEST, a non-profit group promoting the advancement of Women in the business of Science and Technology, further expands its leadership team with the addition of an advisory board and  two additional members of the board of directors members, Beth Edwards and Jane Mason. WEST’s new advisory board is comprised of more than a half-dozen Boston-area business leaders, including:

  • Jennifer Tours Chayes, managing director Microsoft New England Research and Development Center;
  • Irene Greif, director of the IBM Center for Social Software and head of the Collaborative User Experience Group; 
  • Kim Hollister, founder and CEO of staffing firm Hollister, Inc.;
  • Barbara Lynch, renowned chef and serial entrepreneur;
  • Adelene Q. Perkins, president and chief executive officer of Infinity;
  • June Rokoff, founding member and vice chair of the board of directors of The Commonwealth Institute;
  • Janelle Shubert, former director of the Center for Women's Leadership at Babson College; and
  • Kim Zeoli, Senior Partner healthcare practice at Deloitte.

 

“WEST is excited about the breadth of business experience and professional accomplishments our new leaders have reached and how that will help drive our continued success as we launch into a second decade of service to local and regional technology and science communities,” said Ilene Fischer, WEST Executive Director. “As we look ahead to 2012 with a keen focus on growing membership state-wide, building our curriculums, and supporting expanding member and partner bases, the organization will benefit immensely from the business, technology, and science acumen these women bring to the table.  Last week, the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center awarded WEST a grant to expand geographic reach of the organization’s programs to the Route 128 and Route 495 regions.”
